tors with a basic under-
standing of Comet Halley,

comet observation ses:

tude, I feel we can offer
one of the best observa-
tion points of Comet Hal-
ley in the Southwest."
Visitors are encouraged
to make a weekend trip to
the park and attend both t
the evening and early morn-
ing programs, and also
take advantage of the
park's many miles of hi-
king trails. Visitors
should be prepared for
cool and windy weather
conditions. Pine Springs
Campground has limited
space for tents and re-
creational vehicles, with
all sites available on a
first-come, first-served
basis. The campground is
just off U.S. Highway
62/180, 55 miles south-
west of Carlsbad, N.M.

mately 74 miles north of
