The showers and cooler weather
is appreciated by everyone, how-
ever rain slowed down the picking
of cotton, which is a very good
crop over this community this
year.
Joe Day Whitaker, little son-of
Mr. and Mrs. Day Whitaker, fell
from the fender of Joe Howell’s
car Friday afternoon arid AvttfT
rushed to the hospital. We are
glad to report .he was not serious-
ly injured.
Mr. and Mrs. Alvis Harris have
moved to Hobbs, Texas, and Mrs.
Harris is teaching school at that
place.
Bert Savage, Geo. Fulton, El-
bert Huffman, and Patsy Savage
visited Allen Savage, who is in
the hospital at Waco, Sunday,
and reported him much improved.
Rev. James arid Mrs. Riley were
visiting in Donie Thursday after-
noon.

Indian Relics Is
Hobby of Teacher
i In Teague Schools
(Second in a series to acquaint
readers with new teachers who
rre employed at Teague public
schools this year).
Teague High School’s newest
addition to its faculty is a charm-
ing red-haired lady whose name is
Miss Fredonia Paul, ui charge of
the commercial department.
Miss Paul, whose home is in
Mart, Texas, is a “native Texan.”
She came to Teague from Monroe,
La, after teaching at Northeast
Junior College for 11 months. She
attended college at the University
of Texas, College of Commerce at
Boling Green, Ky., University of
Oklahoma at Norman, Okla., Den-
ver University at Denver, Colora-
do, and lows State University at
Iowa City, Iowa.
Miss Paul has been teaching 17
years at various towns, including
La "Junta, Colo., Fort Smith, Ark.,
Orange, Texas and Glenmora, La.
Her hobby is collecting Indian
iclics and various kinds of stones,
of which she has “quite a collec-
tion.’’
She resides at the
