Family fun day
The United Way of Calhoun
County is sponsoring its third
family fun day from 11 a.m.
to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at
the Bayfront Peninsula. The
event signals the kick-off of the
annual fall campaign. Families
in Calhoun County are asked
to come and enjoy free hot
dogs, drinks, popcorn, games
and activities. Some of United
Way’s thirteen partner agencies,
which provide a variety of
programs and services that
help improve lives in Calhoun
County, will be available. The
first 250 children attending with
an adult will receive a free shirt.
There will also be special prize
drawings throughout the event.
Winners must be present.

Mini cheer camp
Calhoun High
cheerleaders will host a mini
cheer camp for boys and girls
in kindergarten through eighth
grades from 10 a.m. to noon,
Saturday, Sept. 24, in the CHS
gym. Registration is at 9:15 a.m.
in the CHS cafeteria. The fee to
participate is $30 and includes
a shirt and photo. Participants
will perform Friday, Sept. 30,
during the CHS vs. Victoria
West game.
