dent Taft arrived at New London on
the presidential yacht Mayflower ea'y

The president was accompanied by

mittee remained on the Mayflower
The president who still is suffering
with his ankle had to walk a shct
distance to an automobile and upen
reaching his hotel a chair was qujckly
provided for him in the lobby H 3

than when he left "Washington. In th3
hotel lobby several hundred delegates
to the Atlantic Deeper "Waterways con-
vention were presented to him. Afte-
the reception the president's party had
luncheon at the hotel.

MAY PLAY IN EL PASO
El Malda tenmle of the Mystic Shrine
has received an offer from the V nited
States marine band to give a concept
irt El Paso under the ausnrces of the
Shrine during the lasf part of Octo-
ber. As the dates of the Southwestern
Jubilee are set for the week of October
22 an effort will be made to have the
band appear here as a closing feature
of the big celebration.

says the 1912 season has been the most
successful in the history of the re-
sort. The resort will close its present

shutting down Monday. Many cottag-
ers however are expected to remain

has been a decided increase in outsiders.
