BROTHERHOOD
For only $49, a dozen beautiful, premium roses will
be delivered in time for Erev Rosh Hashanah. These
lovely roses will express a wonderful L’Shanah Tovah
for the High Holy Days to your spouse, relatives, friends,
teachers and other special people. This project is made
possible through the combined efforts of Village Flow-
ery and Houston Flowery Paul Katz and the Beth Yeshu-
run Brotherhood. Roses will be delivered in the greater
Houston area only
■ Kost High Holy Day teleconference times
For the past seven years, our synagogue, through the
kindness and generosity of Norma Kost and her children, Karen
and Cecil Kost and Fredell and Martin Belasco, and in memory
of her husband Nathan Kost, has been able to allow those
unable to come to the synagogue to listen to High Holy Day
services by telephone. This program will again be provided this
year through The Kost Memorial High Holy Days Telephone
Connection Fund as follows:
Erev Rosh Hashanah, Sep. 8: 6:00-7:15 p.m.
Rosh Hashanah 1, Sep. 9: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Rosh Hashanah 2, Sep. 10: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Koi Nidre, Sep. 17: 5:45-7:45pm
Yom Kippur, Sep. 18: 9:30 a.m.- through the final blast
of the shofar at 7:49 p.m.
All transmissions will be from the Barg Sanctuary. After Aug.
23, please contact the synagogue office at (713) 666-1881 for
the toll-free number and code to access the teleconference.
The clergy, officers and administration of Beth Yeshurun
would like to thank Mrs. Kost and her children for their generosity
and dedication to the welfare of the congregation.
■Which one is my High Holy Day ticket?
Also called Membership Card or High Holy Days Card,
your ticket is a red and white piece of cardstock, tabbed on the
top and bottom and scored to be folded. It measures 6 1/2" x 7
1/2" and doubles as a pledge card for Israel Bonds. The service
schedule is printed on the back.
■Order your Lulav and Etrog for Sukkot
Beth Yeshurun is again selling lulav and
etrog sets for Sukkot for use in the synagogue
or at home. All sets are kosher and cost $60.
