ness session
Mrs W B. Meek was

Pat Lindley, who gave a talk on
"Changes in EducationThe
burdens and challenges facing
school districts are rapidly
growing New interests in
education challenge old meth-
ods, therefore, it is essential
that the wisdom and capacities
of school district authorities be
relied upon for decisions and
actions to serve the best ♦
interests of Texas students
Mrs Lindley stated that Mt
Vernon has every right to be
proud of its school system,
which we feel is second to none*
in comparison to other schools
of its size and many much
larger This is evident in the
fact that most new people
moving into the area prefer
their children to be in the Mt
Vernon School district The
school is growing fast and we
only have our past boards of
education and administration
to thank for having the
foresight to plan ahead and lay
the groundwork (or our good
school. 'Good Schools make
Good Citizens and a Better
World for Tomorrow ”
The meeting closed by
