SAC Missing
One Soph Frexy
San Antonio College has lost
one of it’s most active students.
After weeks of threatening to
drop out, Tommy French, soph-
omore class president, finally
took the plunge and officially
withdrew on November' 28.
He plans to join the Air Force
and try for Officers Candidate
School.
Mary Ann Lothringer, Sohpo-
more vice-president, will take
over Tommy’s duties as presi-
dent, and the office of vice-
president will probably be left
vacant.

At SAC on Dec. 12
A group of local drama enthu-
■ siasts who consider William
Shakespeare a living literary
tradition will present a one night
stand of an abridged version, of
“Macbeth” and “As You -Like
It,” December 12, in the auditor-
ium at San Antonio College. Cur-
tain time is 8 p.m., and tickets
are 60 cents.
The group will be sponsored at
SAC by the Readers and Writers
Club. Included in the cast are
Miss Jean Taylor, speech teacher
at SAC, and Bill Benton and
Richard Gilstrap, students who
take parts in the productions.
They are directed by Miss Jean
Longwith, a teacher in the SAC
evening division and speech in-
structor at Jeferson High School.
The scenes to be presented are
selected in such a way as to
leave the plot in the play intact
and allow the playgoer to follow
the action. Although the only
scenery used is a group of simple
levels, costumes are used. The
Cambridge Theater was organ-
ized last year by a group who
w thought that Shakespeare should
be performed as a play for stu-
dents to get a full appreciation
of the works.
In addition to the performance
at SAC the group will be at New
Braunfels on December 3; at
Lady of the Lake on December*
11; and in San Marcos on De-
cember 14.
To Appear on TV
Mrs. Miriam Wagner will pre-
sent a program entitled “The
Three M’s In Music” Sunday, De-
cember 4, from 12-12:30 p.m.
over WOAI-TV.
She will play the piano and
explain her theories of artistry
in music. The program will illu-
strate the problems of what it is
to become a musician.
Time is being made to all local
colleges by the station, in order
that they may each show some
side of college life.
If. you want to know what the
Three M’s In Music” are, be
sure to watch the program.

Rangers Play Wharton Tonight
The Rangers were downed by
the Allen Academy Ramblers 87-
56 as both the teams began
their 1955-56 basketball seasons
at Bryan, Tuesday night, No-
vember 29.
For two* quarters the Rangel's
kept up with the speedy and tall
Ramblers but after the half it
was strictly Allen’s game, as
they pulled far ahead and
swamped SAC by 33 points.
Richard Enrico and Jay Knepp
dumped in 12 points each and
Mach Ramirez and Frank Men-
diola helped out with 11 and 10
points respectively for the orange
and white.
Ed Lilley and Kimbrough
Mosley each tallied 18 points for
the winners.
