Miss Dee Anna Alexander is at
home after being a patient in a Sher-
man hospital for three days.
Mr. and Mrs. Dale Yarborough and
their nieces, Joyce Ann and Vivian
Lee Harrison, of Burkburnett were
in town for the dinner given by
Carl’s Tasty Sausage Company. Im-
mediately after the dinner they are
leaving for a vacation in Florida.
Last Thursday Henry and Buck
McFatridge went to Los Angeles,
Calif., making the trip by jet plane
from Dallas in only two hours.
The Whitewright High School class
of 1955 will hold a reunion Saturday,
June 6, at the American Legion Hall.
The 20 class members are to meet at
the hall at 5:30, go to a restaurant
for dinner, then return to the hall for
visitation and reminiscing.
A son, G. C. Brown III, was born
May 23 to Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Brown
Jr. of Garland at a Sherman hospital.
Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. G. C.
Brown Sr. of Whitewright and Mr.
and Mrs. David F. Fluker of Corsi-
cana.
Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Haliburton
have returned from visiting relatives
at Abilene and Anson. They were
accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ray-
mond England and daughter Susan
of Fort Worth.
Kathy, Connie and Sam McGee
Henderson of Sherman spent the
weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd
Haliburton.

country to the Pacific Ocean.

wright, was one of 104 graduates re-
ceiving degrees in commencement
exercises at Austin College, Sherman,
Monday morning. Also recognized at

Campbell, who wiir complete her de-
gree requirements Jn August. She is
the daughter of Mrs. Sara Kathryn
Schwiening and granddaughter of
Mrs. H. T. Arterberry, both of White-

Mrs. Elbert Bennett underwent
foot surgery at a Greenville hospital
Tuesday.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Whitworth of
Whitewright, accompanied by Rev.
and Mrs. R. L. Hamm of Irving, at-
tended the North Texas District
Council of the Assembly of God at
Lufkin this week.
The Lottie Moon Circle of the First
Baptist Church met Tuesday in the
home of Mrs. W. L. Hatfield, with
seven members present. Mrs. Carl
May and Mrs. W. M. Gates led the
prayers. Next meeting will be with
Mrs. A. R. McMurry June 9.
A daughter, Pamela Elaine, was
born to Mr. and'-Mrs. Thomas Chit-
wood of Tom Bean on May 21. The
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. C. E.
Rice of Whitewright and Mr. and
Mrs. Tom Chitwood of Fort Worth,
and great-grandmother is Mrs. Pearl
Chitwood of Ector.

Mrs. C. J. Meador is visiting
friends in Comfort.

of the bride, was candle-lighter.
A reception was held after the cer-
emony at the home of the bride’s
mother. The bride’s table was cov-
ered with an imported linen cloth
with a two-tiered cake topped with
a bride and groom, surrounded by
greenery, and flanked with crystal
candelabra. The bridal bouquet com-
plimented the table. Floral pieces
and crystal accessories accented the
reception rooms.
Mrs. Robert L. Price, sister of; the
bride, and Mrs. Marvin Chesshir
were reception assistants.
After a short wedding trip, the
couple are at home temporarily in.
Whitewright. On July 31 Lt. and
Mrs. Bennett will go to Rambo, Ill.,
where he will report to Chanute Air
Force Base.
Mrs. Bennett graduated from Den-
ison High School and is a junior Eng-
lish-Spanish major at East Texas
State College in Commerce.
Lt. Bennett graduated from White-
wright High School and received his
Bachelor of Science degree in indus-
trial education at East Texas State
College on May 24. He was commis-
sioned a 2nd lieutenant in the Air
Force in ceremonies at that time.
Attending the wedding from White-
wright were Rev. and Mrs. Dale
Gore, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson, Mr.
and Mrs. Joe Bodine, and Mr. and.
Mrs. David Johnson and daughter
Julie; and Jimmy Moore of Tom
Bean.
Bill McDowell, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Alton McDowell, graduated “cum
laude” with a B. A. degree at com-
mencement exercises at the Univer-
sity of Dallas May 31. Mr. and Mrs.
McDowell spent the weekend in Dal-
las and attended the commencement
exercises. Bill served one year as
state president of the Future Farmers
of America immediately after grad-
uating from the Whitewright High
School, then entered the University
of Dallas.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Henson at-
tended graduation exercises of Pas-
chall High School in Fort Worth
Monday. Their nephew, Reggie Rob-
bins, was a member of the class, and
has enrolled in the TCU summer
school. Mrs. Henson also attended
the baccalaureate service on Sunday.

The First Presbyterian Chapel in
Denison was the scene Friday at 8
p. m. of the marriage of Miss Mary
Kathryn Manning of Denison and Lt.
Jerry Lee Bennett of Whitewright.
Rev. Dale Gore, pastor of the First
Baptist Church of Whitewright, per-
formed the double-ring ceremony be-
fore an altar arrangement of white
gladioli and white stock, flanked with
floor candelabras holding lighted ta-
pers. The gold wedding bands were
designed by Lt. Bennett.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Hiram Gladstone Manning, 1600 W.
Gandy, Denison, and the late Mr.
Manning. The bridegroom is the son
of Mr. and Mrs. Noble L. Bennett of
Whitewright.
Mrs. Lorine Riffell presented tra-
ditional wedding selections on the
organ.
The bride, given in marriage by
her brother, H. D. Manning of Ports-
mouth, Va., wore an imported white
silk suit, simply tailored. A veil of
silk illusion fell from the crown of
an original hat fashioned of tulle
tiers. She wore a strand of pearls,
gift of the bridegroom, and carried
a bouquet of white carnations and
white stephanotis showered with
satin streamers and French love
knots.
Miss Peggy Bennett, sister of the
bridegroom, was maid of honor. She
wore a sky-blue organza over taffeta
full skirt with brocade fitted bodice,
small white lace hat with white veil,
and carried a bouquet of pink car-
nations tied with matching satin
streamers.
Noble L. Bennett served his son as
best man, Robert I. Price of Denison,
brother-in-law of the bride, was
Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Woodson had
as guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. J. F.
Renfro and children of Odessa, Mr.
and Mrs. Chester Woodson and
daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene
Woodson and Kenneth Woodson of
Sherman and Mr. and Mrs. Junior
Woodson and children of Garland.
