Kevin Blackmon, freshman student
at St. Mary’s University in San
Antonio, to be awarded a scholarship
Blackmon, son of Mr. and Mrs.
William Blackmon of Bells, is one of
88 students to receive a scholarship.
The scholarships, with a total value
of $140,000, will be renewed for each
student of four years provided that
the student maintains the necessary
academic standards.__
Greenhand
initiation
Tom Bean Greenhand Initiation was
October 14 through October 19. The
Greenhands are: Norma Blue, Brett
Davis, Mikey Lee, Mike Cruger,
Robbie Robertson, Benji Williams,
Stephanie Jones, Michelle Lovera,
Marci Merriman, Richie Chipwood,
David Redigar, and Tracy DooLittle.
During the week of initiation these
greenhands did various things. They
had animal day where they portrayed
an animal; Official Dress was also
honored one of the days. They will be
given their Greenhand Degree’s and
their Greenhand pens at the next
FFA meeting.

frames, Granny is going to teach us
to quilt. I can hardly wait. My
daughter is going to learn too.

A very disturbing issue today is
abortion. As a Christian I do not
believe I could have one, but I
thought I lived in America where we
had Freedom of choice. It scares me
to hear clinics are bombed and
people are marching on hospitals,
trying to force everyone to their way

spent the weekend in Branson,
Missouri.

week-end visiting in the home of
their son and family, Mr. and Mrs.
Jimmy Carty in Heavnor, Oklahoma.

Gainesville visited his parents, Mr.

weekend visiting their daughter and
