iu«*t K. Walker formerly assistant quar-
termaster general ot the Texas National
Gunn! who was indicted hy the federal
grand jury here on a charge of unlawfully
disposing of government propertly while
assistant quartermaster general arrived in
Austin Tuesday night in the custody of
Captain Smith of the Texas rangers. He
i w.is taken to the court house t roiu where
lie was later tratisfererd to the Travis
county jail.
Colonel Walker -aid Tuesday night that
he voluntarily surrendered to the authori-
ties and w.is un his way to San Antonio
Iroiu Kl Faso when he was arrested by
Captain J. Monroe l ux of the ranger
ser\ ice.
Colonel Walker -aid lie wished to answer
all charges made against him. lie was un-
able to give bond and was locked up tor
the night.
