Still Time For Young
Men of 21 To Enlist
The Herald has it the following
from Capta;n W. L. Lowe 'of the Fnited
States Army Recruiting Station Bin*
Bldg. Houston.
The hill requir ng men who have rench-
* ed the age of '21 since June 5the l!lli to
register has passed both houses of t on-
gress and the Provost Marshal General
has made his arrangements to have the
men register June 5th 1018.
After a man registers he ean no longer
l*e accepted for the regular army as a
volunteer and it is thought that many of
these voting men will want to enlist before
thcv register. All branches of the service
i • ™
are now often with the exec -*' *t of the
Aviation Section of the S'gnal Corps.
Six hundred men applied for enlistment
dur ng the month of May who could not
be accepted on account of having been
registered men thcsi* men would now be
in France if they had acted in time.
Men enlisting in the regular army are
being sent to France as rapidly as trans-
ports are avtrlable.

Cantonment Stands
Have Sugar Troubles
By Associated Press. I
DALLAS Texas May 22.—Candy soft
drink and ice cream manufacturers in
Texas cities which arc located near can-
tonements and f’ving fields are hiving
the’r troubles. Sweet toothed soldiers
have caused an enormous increase in the r
business and many of them already have
consumed more than tin* amount of sugar
they are limited to this year by the Food
Administration. The 1 niit is SO per cent
of the amount they consumed last year.
So perplexing has become the problem
at W aeo that Food Administrator Das-
has been compelled to devise means for
supplying them. Endless rcgulnton-
must be satisfied before j»ermits to ex-
ceed the limit will be granted.
lias- advi- ng the manufacturers that
he cannot is-ue |*eniiit> for addit-onal
sugar supplies says all applications for
increase permits must be taken up with
the officer in charge of the cantonment
whose soldiers are served. The canton-
ment commander in turn will take up
with the commander of his department at
the army and navv headquarter- >n Wash-
ington who will in turn place the matter
before the proper authorities of the IV-
tod States Food„- Administration. The
permit in ca-tt/it i- granted then w ll
come direct fro/ the national captal.

The Itching and Sting ^
of Blazing Fiery Eczema
Deems mne me dkiti is on r ire.
There is a harrassing discomfort
caused by Eczema that almost be-
comes a torture. The itching is al-
most unbearable and the skin seems
on fire with the burning irritation.
A cure from local applications of
falves and ointments is impossible
because such treatment can only al-
lay the pain temporarily. The disea«e
can only be reached by going deep
clown to its source.
The source cf Eczema is in the
blood the disease being caused by an
infection which breaks out through
the skin. That is why the most satis-
factory treatment for ail so-calleu
skin diseases is S. S. S. for this rem-
edy so thoroughly cleunses the blood
that no impurities can remain. Get a
bottle to-day at any drugstore and
you will see results from the right
treatment. Write for expert medical
advice which you can get without
cost by addressing Medical Director
