BOARD TAKES UPj

Chamber of Commerce Di-
rectors Decide to Rush Im-
provements at Browns-
ville Tourist Park
At a regular meeting of the board of
directors of the Brownsville Chamber
of Commerce last night several matters
of general interest were taken up and
disposed of. Principal among these was {
instruction given the tourist camp site
committee to at once make arrange-
ments for the erection of a building at
the Tourist (amp to be utilized as
quarter* (or a keeper and a room set
•side for a tourists' register and li-
brary. and also to have a telephone
installed. They were also instructed
to hire a keeper to take cure of the
camp and its equipment. The library
is to be equipped with a number of
books magazines and per.odicals fur-
nishing the tourists with a great variety
of reading matter while they are in the
camp.
The committee appointed several
months ago to investigate the proposi-
tion of renumbering the streets of the
city was instructed to call a forum meet-
ing at an early date and present their
findings to the public. No specific date
for the forum meeting was announced
but an announcement of the meeting is
expected in a few days.
extensive advertising plans were dis-
cu'sed and the secretary was requested
to prepare “copy'' for a booklet similar
to the booklet issued by the Chamber
of Commerce two years ago making it
larger and covering the city and its
facilities more extensively. The Cham-
ber of Commerce proposes to have the
booklet arranged and printed in an at-
tractive and convenient form making
it a very desirable piece of advertising.
Another advertising feature discussed
was stickers for auto wind shields and
the secretary was instructed to secure
designs to he submitted at a later meet-
ing. The sticker advertisments are be-
ing used extensively in the parks and
re«orts of the north and many of the
samples Secretary Jessup secured are
decidedly artistic.
The board endorsed the movement in-
augura'ed by A. & M. College for a state-
wide campaign against boll weevil and
the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce
wi*l render all assistance within its
power in promoting the campaign now
in progress in Cameron county.
The report of Secretary Jessup regard- |
trig the recent conference with the State
Board of Control and Governor Neff in
connection with the movement to secure
an agricultural experiment station for
the Valley was very satisfactory. The
assurance that the project will have the
support of Governor Neff and that the
State Board of Control manifested deep
interest in the matter was regarded by
the board as very good indication that
the Valley will be able to secure the
station as soon as the legislature has an
opportunity to pass upon the measure
and make the necessary appropriation.

CALOMEL MAY TURN
ON YOU NEXT TIME
; Next Doae You Take May Salivate
and Start World of Trouble
Ca'omel is mercury; quicksilver. It
crashes into sour bile like d-namite
cramping and sickening you. Calomel
attacks the bones and should never
be nut into your system.
If you feel bilious headachy con-
stipated and all knocked out just go
to your druggist and get a bottle of
Dodson’s Liver Tone for a few cents
which is a harmless vegetable substi-
tue for dangerous calomel. Take a
spoonful and if it doesn’t start your
liver and straighten you up better and
quicker than nasty calomel and with-
out making you sick you just go back
1 and get your money.
f>on’t take calomel! It makes you
sick the next day; it loses you a day’s
work. Dodson’s Liver Tone straight-
ens you right up and you feel great.
No salts necessary. Give it to the
children because it is perfectly harm-
less and cannot salivate.—Adv. (fi7)
