OUR "AUNT LUCY"
VISITING EUROPE
DURINGVACATION
Miss Hennigan, known to most of
Tarleton "gold briekers" as "Aunt
Lucy," sailed for Europe Sept. 1,1927,
She is a member of the American
Legion party that will visit Paris, the
World War , battlefields, arid other
points of interest. After the tour is
completed Miss Hennigan will return
and resume her duties as College
nurse. In the meantime Miss Walker
will spread the monkey blopd and dish
out "CCV i
During the World War Miss Henni-
gan was an army nurse. , For this
reason she was entitled to a reserva-
tion on the tour. It was probably here
that Miss Hennigan obtained her army
like sternness that has made many a
Tarleton gold bricker wish that he
had not visited the hospital. But at
any rate we will miss Aunt Lucy
greatly, and will be very glad when
she returns. - -
PASTE THIS IN YOUR HAT
If you have a short memory and
are of the fair sex clip this out
arid carry it in your vanity. If
you are of the masculine variety,
yet have a forgetful disposition
paste this in your hat or on your
girl's picture, !,
This air has won more battles
than, the "Marseille^." It makes a
Tarletonite feel, is if some one
were rubbing a, brick of ice cream
on,: his 'spine. If there js a sfiark
of patriotism in your breast it will
glow with fervor upon hearing the
stirring strains of. "On Ye Tarle-
ton," So learn it,- sing it, and
spripg to your feet when you hear
it played. . 1 •
ON JE TARLETON
On Ye Tarleton, On Ye Tarleton,
Break right through- that line,
Ever forward, ever onward,
-T-i ^©*11
On Ye Tarleton, On Ye Tarleton,
Fight for victory. , ,
. And win this game.; J
(Repeat faster)
This color song is another song
sacred to Tarletonites. "On Ye
Tarleton" to Tarleton students
means the same as the "Star Span-
gled Banner" to citizens of the
U; S. The song .'"Ameyica" also
has its equivalent in terms of Tar-
leton spirit. This is the Tarleton
"color song."
COLOR SOI^Q
0, our hearts with ijoy are thrill-
ing, ;; ' ^ ' .■
When the Tarleton colors wave;
And our spirits rise with rap-
ture
When the Tarleton sons are
brave,
Fight for victory, fight for honi
or,
And success will crown our
fight.
All hail, the proud defenders
Of the purple and the white.
HOSPITAL HINTS
Kah! Rah! Rah! Hospitality.
We, the Hospital greet you stu-
dents, both new and old, in a most
cordial manner. We take great
pleasure in inviting all of you to
come to see us any time you feel
there is no other place that could
help you. The personnel of the
hospital consists of the following:
Miss Mahan, Miss Glover, Miss
Walker, Sgt. John Melvin Tucker
a,nd Corporal E. Yon Livingston.
We want to say we are indeed
glad to be back.
There has so far been qrie and
only one casualty at the hospital.
Doubtless my gentle readers would
feign know the truth, but that can
never be.
About lour o'clock one bright,
sunny evening last week a half-
grown rooster came gallantly
Strolling by the hospital in the di-
rection of Mr. Howell's home.
Well, just as he, got about even
with the hospital-——those present
a the suiriptuous dinner at—-1:30
p. m. (night) were: Bob, Barney,
Russell and Ned, Von and J, Mel-
vin. Adios, next chapter next
week.

NOTICE!
Gang, this is the first issue of the
i~'i'jtc for the present school ierni.1
It has been an extreiriely difficult
jol> to; issue 4 J-Tac at such ;ari
early date, due to the limited time'
in which we had to work, and to the
scarceness of news. But we hope
that you will find something in it
that will be of interest to you,
This paper will be issued every
Friday as it was today. If you want
a good J-Tac you can have it—pro-
vided that yoil are willing to help
Us put out a real college paper. A
paper to be Of maximum interest to
the entire college cannot be written
by the staff alone. Our intimate
knowledge in the realm of the col-
lege activities is very limited. We
are not acquainted with all the hap-
penings in the various departments
and circles. So students, help us to
make tills paper representative of
the entire student body by fre-
quently contributing any article^ of'
interest to the J-Tac.;
