Bob Glasgow has announced the
appointments of officers and
committees for the 1966-67 Stu-
dent Council.

Acting Dean of Student Per-
sonnel Services Cecil Ballow
has announced the deadline for
obtaining a parking decal.
"Each student who operates
or parks a motor vehicle on the
college campus must register
his vehicle with the college by
8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21,"
Ballow stated.
The; procedure for registering
a vehicle is as follows:
1. Pay registration fee at the
. College Fiscal Office.
2. Take the registration fee
receipts and vehicle license
number to the information desk
in the Registrar's Office, where
a parking decal will be issued.
3. Firmly attach decal to the
lower left inside of the wind-
shield.

Evett, secretary; Ashley Lov-

monitor and chamber keeper.
Glasgow has named Ashley
Lovell chairman, of the Student
Council finance committee.
Members include Barbara Rich-
ardson, Mike Thomas, Dianne
Plummer, Karen Walls, • and
Dale Gilmore.
Tommy Norwood will serve
as chairman of the elections,
committee. TVfembers are Clar-
ene Sweeney, John Yearwood,
Sandy Dennis, Johnny Ellis, and
Sandra Watson.
Visitation Committee Chair-
man is John Yearwood. His
committee is made up of Sus-

Priscilla Eddy.
Last year's Student Council
President Jake Fite will be a
honorary member of all com-
mittees.
The Student Council is the
governing board of the student
body, with each full-time stud-

By the end of the second
class day, Tarleton enroll-
ment had once again shown '
a record increase, accord-
ing to Registrar John Whit-
ing.
At the same time last
year, enrollment stood at
1891 as compared with 1975
this year. Overall enroll-
ment showed a 4.4% in-
crease over 1965. . i
As expected, the number
of freshmen declined from
last year's record due to the
national-wide decrease of
18-year-olds. Nine huhdred ,
fifty-nine had enrolled by ;
the second class day; there
were 1093 in 1965.
Sophomores totaled 514 :
this year as compared with :
386 last year. Juniors varied i
from 241 in 1965 to 266 this ?

Acting Dean of Student Per-
sonnel Services Cecil Ballow has
named three assistants to aid
in the ' operation of his office.
The three.are Jake Fite, gen-
eral agriculture major from
Nocona, Bobby Glasgow, gov-
ernment mojor from Stephen-
yille, and Ashley Lovell, gea
eral agriculture major from
Gatesville. All are seniors.
Fite was Student Council
president for 1965-68, is current-
ly president of the Rodeo Club,
and a member of the Student
Council and the F.F.A. Judging
Team.
Glasgow is the current Stud-
ent Council president and a
member of the Silver Keys Soc-
ial Club and the Young Demo-
crats.
Lovell is president of the
senior class, and a member of
the F.F.A., Student Council,
ROTC, and Alpha Phi Omega.
The three assistants will be
on duty every third night to
handle emergency calls. They
will also' work one and one-half
hours each day in the Student
Personnel Office.
Dean Ballow appointed each
of the three to a particular area
of the campus, noting that this
was a step forward in adminis-
tration-student relationships.
. Glasgow will work with the
Student Council and Interclub
Council, Lovell with the Dining
Hall and Foods Council, and
Fite with Don Staffon in the
Men's Dormitories and with
Colonel Davis in the Tarleton
Center.
