LSC Tilts In Week-end Action
SAN MARCOS—Revenge
was sweet for the BoDcats
as they forgot o!«>m Previ-
ous meetings and downed
Tarleton 100-88 in Lone
Star Conference action Mon-
day night. The Texans suf-
fered a 98-91 overtime loss
to Texas A & I in Saturday
night action at Kingsville.
After Tarleton State
had rallied from a 53-40
halftime deficit to knot the
86-all score, the A & I
quint used the overtime
shooting of Dennis LeBach
for the win.
It was the big and
little for the Texan defense
against the Javelinas.
Richard Crockett and Cliff
Wilkins put the Texans
back into the contest
against the Javelinas.
Crockett tossed in four field
goals in the second half
and finished the night with
23 points to lpad all.Texan
scorers. Wilkins had the hot ,
hand in the second period
as the 5-10 ace tossed in
five field goals and five
free tosses to finish the
night with 16 points.
Wilkins and Crockett
both managed 10 rebounds
apiece as Donnie Ivy paced
the texans on the boards
with 11 rebounds and five
points.
Jimmy Locke kept pace
in the second canto as the .
6;-7 freshman tossed in two
baskets and contributed six
charity tosses to finish, the
night with 15 points and 10
rebounds.
Two other Texans man-
aged double figures as Ty-
ler Tull arid Steve Dean fin-
ished with 10 and 16 points
respectively. Dean paced
the Purple offense in the
overtime period with two
field goals.
LeBach was the real
work horse for the Jave-
linas as he tossed in 31
points for the* night, 16
coming in th© first half.
Roger Richey and Gary
Wideman netted 17 apiece
for the winners and paced
the second half attack with
eight and six respectively
in the final period^
Jeff Wildenbeeg and
Gary Akromis were the other
Javelinas garnering double
figures with 13 apiece.
Wideman and LeBach paced
the overtime attack, and re-
serve A1 Nickerson tossed
in a single field goal.
Southwest Texas State
forgot or rather remembered
their previous meeting with
the Texans as they shook
the shadows of defeat and
roared to a 100-68 win.
' Willie Terrell was high
everything for the Bobcats
with 27 points and 20 re-
bounds for the night.- The
Bobcat center hit a torrid
bounds for thg. night. The

all shooters as he .got dou-

'Cats.

points. Terrell netted five

Jim Locke paced the
Texan offense with his sec-
ond straight sterling caroms
for the night. Locke fouled
out early in the final half
after tossing in four field
goals in that period.
Steve Dean paced the
Texan offense in the sec-
ond half after the • Purples
had stalled to a 47-29 de-
ficit at intermission.
Dean tossed in 12
points in the final period
and finished the night with
17 points to tie for high
honors.
Cliff Wilkins was the
other scorer netting double
figures as the Texan play-
maker continued to hit from
all points on the court and
toss in 13 points.
Donnie Ivy was third
high rebounder- for the
Tarleton quint with six, and
Richard Crockett was tops
on the boards with nine
caroms gathered in.
