Juniors and seniors from
more than 400 central Texas
high schools have been in-
vited to attend the College

held on the Tarleton campus
March 17, from 9-3.

Senate, ICC Stress Need
For Student Housing
The need for new and
adequate housing facilities
for rent by Tarleton students,
especially married couples,
has been brought to the atten-
tion of the Student Senate and
the Interclub Council.
The discussion pointed
out that at present there is a
great housing shortage for all
students in Stephenville. Fe-
male students and married
couples have found it extreme-
ly difficult to locate living
quarters within their limited
budgets.
Tarleton has grown tre-
mendously in the past few
years, but there has not been
any housing change to meet
this need.
The group further stated
that since the graduate pro-
gram has been Approved, more
and more students will be at-
tending Tarleton. Out of this
number, a large percentage
will be married.
The Student Senate and
Interclub Council 'have recom-
mended that some kind of liv-
ing quarters be constructed
and supported by the school.
These lodging facilities would
be specifically for married
couples with female students
occupying the remainder.
Several years ago a sim-
ilar plea for housing was pro-
posed by the students, but
the Stephenville townsmen
blocked the idea, Their argu-
ment was that their places of
rent would be abandoned, and
they would consequently lose
money.
