CITATION No. 52,548.
The State of Texas, to the Sheriff or
any ‘Constable of Galveston County,
Greeting:
Oath therefor having been made as
required by law, you are hereby com-
manded that, by making publication of
this Citation in some newspaper pub-
lished in said County once a week for
four consecutive weeks previous to
the return day hereof, you summon
Ida Mae Brown, defendant, to be
and appear before the District Court,
10th Judicial District, to be holden
in and for the aforesaid County
of Galveston, at the Court House
thereof; in the City of Galveston,
Texas, at the next regular term of said
Court, to-wit: on the first Monday in
February, 1938, then and there to an-
swer the petition of Frank Brown,
plaintiff, filed in said Court on the
23rd day of February, 1937, and num-
bered on the docket of said Court
52,548 against the said Ida Mae Brown,
defendant, and alleging, in substance,
as follows:
That plaintiff and defendant were
duly and legally married in Beaumont,
Texas, on or about the 23rd day of
August A.D., 1923, and lived and co-
habited together until on or about the
21st day of August A. D., 1933, and
are husgand and wife in law. That on
many occasions, the exact dates the
plaintiff is unable to state with partic-
ularity, the defendant was guilty of ex-
cesses, cruel treatment and outrages,
and would curse and abuse this plain-
tiff. That particularly on or about the
21st day of August A.D., 1933, the de-
fendant quarrelled with this plaintiff,
cursed and abused this plaintiff, quar-
relled with this plaintiff and struck
this plaintiff. That there were no chil-
dren: born as issue of this marriage.
That the acts and conduct as above
recited constitutes in law such crutl
treatment as renders the further
living together of the parties as hus-
band and wife wholly impossible and
insupportable. Wherefore plaintiff
prays that the defendant be cited to
appear and answer this suit and that
on final hearing that plaintiff have
judgment dissolving the marriage be-
tween plaintiff and defendant, and for
such other and further relief as the
Court shall think proper to grant, eith-
er at law or in equity, etc., as is more
fully set forth in said petition now on
file in my office.
Herein fail not, but have you then
and there, before said Court, this writ,
with your return thereon, showing how
you have executed the same.
Issued this the 21st day of Decem-
ber A. D., 1937.
Witness: J. C. Gengler, Clerk of the
District Court of Galveston County,
Texas.
(Seal) Given under my hand and the
seal of said Court, at office, in Galves-
ton, Texas, this the 21st day of Decem-
ber A. D., 1937.
N/ USICIANS are both extravert
-- and introvert, but the introvert
tendency dominates. Performers
are more likely to be extraverts
than are composers, who are almost
universally introverted. Richard
Wagner was naturally very intro-
vert, but poverty drove him through
performance to slightly extravert
traits at times. His Tristan and
Isolde is the product of sensuous
introversion of the richest sort;
born out of his life of maladjust-
ment to the world in general.
Beethoven was an introvert through-
out. He never married, and lived
in general disorder. In his intui-
tive mind, his introverted experi-
ence roamed from the hero-fighting
of his Eroica groping for power, to
the depths of sensation in his Ninth
Symphony. His music was made of
tremendous moods. Without intro-
version, no such music would ever
have been written.
