mily of near San Antonio were
about 37000 head of cattle; on
Dec. 1st 1920 we will have 53
herds under special quarantine
about 300 cattle. This gives you
an idea what we have been do-
“8 ing. Now every citizen of Gil-
lespie County should take it up-
on himself to report to me any
cattle that he sees with ticks, of
course, they may not be fever
ticks, but that gives us a chance
to make an investigation.
The cattle on the special qua-
rantined premises will have to
be dipped before they can be
moved from the quarantined pre-
mises to any other place, during
the winter, if found clean on dip-
ping they will be certified to, but
> if found ticky, will have to hold
them from seven to ten days, then
if found clean on second dipping,
they will be certified to. The
dipping strength for official
movement from quarantined area
to free area, will be ten pounds
of Arsenic to each five hundred
gallons of water, or test 22.
I wish to thank the citizens of
Gillespie County for the co-ope-
ration they have given me in this
work, and especially thank .Judge
Kneese, the County officials, and
the Gillespie County Cattlemen’s
Committee for what they have
done to help this work along.
I will be in charge of this work
in Gillespie, Kerr and Kendall
Counties during 1921, with my
official station at Fredericks-
burg.
