Notes

Text: "Dear Mr. Kempner :- Thank you for sending the photographs of old Bank Building. It is still standing but is an eyesore to the Village. The marker which was erected for Mr. Kempner in each of the Town in an uncluttered spot. The traffic from Ft. Hood races thru [sic] so fast and the cannons and buildings in the town proper are such a jumble that the Highway Engineer decided it would be unsafe and improper to jam it in with other signs. The location is such that a tourist can pull out of the lane onto a paved spot and read the information on the marker. Sincerely yours, Mrs. L.H. Baldwin."
