thermostat up a degree or
two when home and a lot
more when you're away.
Each degree you offset your

The Red Cross hopes to
increase shelter capacity
locally and especially to
increase its outreach to
the Hispanic community,
according to Clare
Francaville, disaster
program manager based
in Texarkana.
“We have very few
calls from the Hispanic
community,” Francaville
said. “We work in Titus
County, and we respond
to fire calls regularly. We
want to make sure the
information is out there,
that everyone who has
some type of disaster has
access.”
The FEMA interns said
they had enjoyed their
time in Mount Pleasant
and planned to go to the
Priefert World Youth
Rodeo Friday night to
get a taste of Texas. Then
they would be back on
the road after Tuesday,
their next stop Dallas for
a month and a half. The
interns stay on the road
constantly, one member
said.
“We’re nomads,”
Maureen Bishop said.
