Pittsburg, Texas (September 18, 2020) — UT Health
Pittsburg received the top grade for patient experi-
ence according to the Centers for Medicare and Med-
icaid Services.
Of almost 3,500 hospitals nationwide that received
a star rating, UT Health Pittsburg was one of only 266
hospitals to receive the highest rating — five stars.
Ratings are derived from the Hospital Consum-
er Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems
(HCAHPS) survey, which is administered to a random
sample of adult patients across all types of medical
conditions after they are discharged from the hospital.
Surveys are not restricted to Medicare beneficiaries.
HCAHPS summary star ratings are calculated using
10 publicly reported topic-specific measures and one
summary rating that aggregates all topics into a single
star measure.
