Calliope, pronounced (ka li’ ope’), is the muse of eloquence and epic
poetry. In Greek mythology Calliope is one of the nine muses that are said
to inspire literature, art and music.
As one of the sisters of Apollo, Calliope was worshipped often by artists
and writers. It was customary for an author or story teller to call upon
Calliope to make his story or song enjoyable and pleasing for the audience.
