you hold your annual meeting in Cle

We are not unmindful of the faet
that you are lore, got for your person-

sentative of Jesus Christ. Nothing is
too good for those who come to us in
the name of the Lord Jesus.
I would remind you that we are to
day in the midt of uuusual conditions.
The world war has dislocated every-
thing. Social standards are not now
what tley were five years ago. Alarm-
ing conditions have arisen, and ques
thuable customs are clamoring for rec-
ognition. Social sins have crept into
the church and into our homes, and are
demanding that we give them counte
nance either quietly aequieseing or
openly assenting to them. The demands
among these is our holy Sabbath day.
I do not have to remind you that the
Christian Sabbath is today being en
eroached upon and viciously attacked
as never before in our history. Its ene
mies would commereialize it and make
of it a day of social pleasure.
Even the usefulness of the elrurch
itself has been called in question. Need
less for me to call your attention to the
faet that the safety and perpetuity of
our great nation are involved in the
questions I have mentioned. ,
We welcome you becaurse of your in
lores' in all these great question*. You
ure profoundly concerned in all matters
that affect our homes, our church, our
nation and the world.

The eommerei] world likewise has
