It was also a new experience for us to hold a
joint event with another local youth group. This
took place as we hosted 4 visiting Israeli students
for a Kumsitz, hand-in-hand with U.S.Yers.

JUNIOR NCSY SHABBATON - April 25th
Our award winning Junior NCSY Chapter of
the year will be going to another Shabbaton at the
Klein Retreat House. Our last Shabbaton was quite
successful and we are looking forward to another
meaningful “Shabbat”. Once again, the Junior
NCSYers will be accompanied by advisors Mr. and
Mrs. Alan Rosenthal, Ellen and Jerry Katz and
three Senior NCSYers. The date of the Shabbaton
is April 25-27. We will be leaving the synagogue on
Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. Reservations must
be made by Monday, April 14th. Applications are
now available in the Youth Office.
YOUTH SHABBOS
Our high school students will be conducting
services in the Synagogue Sanctuary on “Shabbos
Hagadol”, March 22nd at 9:00 a.m.
Plans are now beginning for next year. We
would like to continue our programs and possibly
add some new dimensions to our chapter. Our
prime goal will be to increase our present
membership of 27 paid members. Our new Board
will be elected in May and will have much to do in
continuing our success.
This year, for the first time, we even have some
members interested in attending NCSY national
convention in New York.
Once, again, we would like to thank the
Synagogue for all its efforts and endless support.
SENIOR NCSY NEWS
We are proud to belong to “Cochav Hanegev”,
the most improved chapter in Southern Region of
NCSY. We are continuing our efforts as one of the
most active chapters in NCSY. Our weekly
meetings vary from organizational business to
social actions. “Cochav Hanegev” is quite proud of
their Torah Study program where we not only
attend regular Hebrew High School classes on
Shabbat and Tuesday evenings, but also have
additional sessions on Sunday mornings and
monthly Onegai Shabbat.
“YOM HASHOAH" - April 6th
A special “Yom Hashoah” — “Remembrance of
the Holocaust” will be held at the Jewish
Community Center for all Hebrew school youth
on Sunday, April 6th. Further information will
follow in the April Youth Bulletin.

CONGRATULATIONS to our Purim Masquerade
winners — Marcie Baker, Elise Friedland, Jennifer
Weinman and Todd Nelkin.
THANK YOU to Martha Weisberg from the
Hebrew School for the delicious "hamentashen"
she baked for Purim.
Most recently, we have attended a wonderful
experience at a Shabbaton in San Antonio, as well
as a fun-filled and Mitzvah-oriented “Seudat
Purim” at our advisor’s home.
A REMINDER TO PARENTS
In order for us to afford your children the best
education possible, they must all be in class at the
proper starting time Sundays, 9:45 a.m. and
weekdays, 3:45 p.m. Student lateness disrupts the
class and causes your child to miss valuable work.
Please cooperate in maintaining your child’s
prompt attendance.
