ders now in possession of wholesale
and retail dealers and in transit to
such dealers will be taken by this de-
partment. This is a repetition of a
prior statement of this department.
Manufacturers of such baking pow-
ders will be given ample time—say
until Feb. 1, 1814—In which to adjust
their husiness and their labels to the
ruling. Respectfully,

easiness on the part of the merchants
in regard to present stocks of such
baking powders, and cm to future pur-
chases as may be required to supply
their trade. The confidence of mer-
chants in the legality of thse goods

United States Department of Agricul-
ture do not consider them in violation
of the food law and permit them in
interstate commerce. •
