child. It would not do to make som-
plaint against him on a charge of va-
grancy and place him in Jail, as he
was too young; the judge and com-
mIsaloners had gone home, and no
order could be gotten to send the waif

made arrangements to have the child
cared for until today, and in the mean-
time a search for its mother was made.
