It is learned here that as a result
of the conference held here a short
time ago between the cattlemen and
the attorney general relative to the
antitrust suits filed against the Fort
Worth live stock exchange that a ten-
tative agreement has been reached
with a view of dismissing tho suits
against the commission firms. The
nature of the agreement has so far
not been disclosed.
It will be , remembered that when
this conference was held here the cat-
tlemen at its conclusion declined to
give out anything definitely concerning
the matter, but it is known that the
question of the dismissal of the suits
against the commission firms which
are members of the Fort Worth live
stock exchange was the question at
issue, as it was pointed out to the
attorney general that with these suits
pending it was proving very disastrous
to the cattle industry of Folt Worth.
The cattlemen, however, appeared to
be quite pleased at the result of the
conference.
The suits will be set this morning
at 10 o’clock by Judge Brooks.
State Senator W. A. Hanger of Fort
Worth, representing the Fort Worth
live stock exchange, was here yester-
day and had a talk with Office Assist-
ant Attorney General Lightfoot •re-
garding the pending litigation.
