Bookmarks Are
Seal Reminders
People who borrow books from
the public library in the next few
weeks will be able to check up
on their health.
Bookmarks being placed in all
books borrowed, contain a check
list to test the reader’s knowl-
edge about chest X-rays and tu-
berculosis symptoms. They also
bear holiday greetings from the
Cooke County Tuberculosis asso-
ciation, which has supplied the
markers to the library.
. The bookmarks serve not only
as a health check list but also as
a remainder of the annual Christ-
mas Seal sale which opens Nov.
25 to raise funds to support the
work of the tuberculosis associa-
tion. Mrs. Carrie Hudspeth, act-
ing librarian, said the bookmarks
will be placed in’all books bor-
rowed from the library until
Christmas.
The Crystal Creamery will
place milk bottle collars on milk
delivered in the homes this week
as an additional service to the as-
sociation.

the season opened, the Razor-
backs have surprised everyone by
clinching at least a tie for first.
So potent have been the Porkers
that in their last three, conference
clashes they have held Texas
A&M, Rice and Southern Method-
ist scoreless.
To hear Coach John Barnhill
talk, his Porkers don’t belong on
the same field with the Tulsa
eleven. The ex-Tennessee mentor,
whose volunteers defeated Tulsa
14-7 in the 1943 Sugar Bowl, isn’t
influencing Hurricane Coach Bud-
dy Brothers, however.
Says Porkers Are Strong
."Arkansas won’t need any sym-
pathy,” Brothers commented as
he prepared his charges for the
traditional battle. "The scouting
reports of Hugh McCullough and
John Garrison, my assistants, in-
dicate that we’re in for our tough-
est test of the season.

Leopard Banner
Is Long Missing
A large cloth banner, bearing
a leopard’s head, belonging to
Gainesville high school has been
missing for several years, Supt.
Roy P. Wilson said Tuesday, and
suggested that some citizen of
Gainesville might know where it
is stored.
The banner was loaned for
some special event some years
ago and was never returned to
the school. School authorities are
desirous of obtaining the return
of the banner, which was used for
Thanksgiving day service of First
Church of Christ, Scientist, 202
