THURSDAY. SEPTEMBER 5. 1907
The industrial edition of the
Houston Post issued Labor Day
was" a splendid piece of journalistic
work. Indeed every edition of the
Pest is a reflection of the progress
of this glorious Southland of ours
"The praises of the Gulf Coast coun-
try and the Brownsville country
in particular where grand old Tex-
as kisses the Tropics are heralded
to the world in a convincing man-
aer in the 476 columns the indus-
trial edition contained.
Since it has been practically
demonstrated near Brownsville that
fey proper cultivation over one
thousand dollars net can be realiz-
ed from one acre planted to celery
why not diversify in Webb county
by planting celery in the rich and
alluvial valleys of the Rio Grande?
Laredo Times.
Why not. There is scarcely a
foot of land in the whole valley
"that is not capable of producing a
variety of crops that cannot be
equalled in any other spot on the
earth.
"The business men of Houston
appreciate the value of the busi-
ness to be cultivated in the Browns-
ville country. They realize the
magnificence of the endowment
showered upon this great garden
y Dame Nature and they are
ready to gather the share of the
Ijountiful harvest that all will
jgather who work in this great gar
Ien. The business men in San An-
tonio who are reaching 6ut for
sprofitablcfields to cultivate have
xiik eye on the Valley of the Amer-
ican Nile and are thinking about
the encouraging the builders of a
railroad to this Land of Promisej
meanwhile line men from the banks
of Buffalo .Bayou are making
strenuous .efforts to capture the
commerce of this semi-tropical em-
pire and' keep it for the great East
Texas Metropolis. Unless San An-
tonio ge'ts:lo work on' that road
within a sftort limejtfieV will never
he able to disturb Houston's grasp
xn the busriiessVof the Gulf Coast.

Deafness Cannot be Cured-
by local applications- as they cannot
reach the diseased portion of the ear.
There is only one way to cure deafness
and that is by constitutional remedies.
Dearness is caused by an inflamed con
dition of the mucous lining ofthe Eus-
tachian Tube. When this tube is inflanv
ed you have a rumbling sound or imper-
fect hearine. and when it is entirely clos
ed Deafness is the resnlt and unless the
nflammation can be taken out and this
tnhe restored to its normal condition
hearing will' be destroyed forever; nine
cases out of ten are caused by Catarrh
which is nothing but an inflamed condi
tion of the mucous surfaces.
We will give One Hundred Dollars for
any case of Deafness (caused by. catarrh)
that cannot be cured by Hall's Catarrh
Cure.. Send1 for circulars free.
