annuitant's lapel emblem, mementos from the Humble Company, to
G. K. DeLaune when he retired from active duty serving in the Power
Department. Included also was a Bible as a gift from fellow-employees.

Pleasant memories are recalled at a happy
reunion of Mrs. Eugenia P. Buenger and
her brother, Annuitant L. A. (Pat) Lover-
ing, former yield department head. A
resident of Benrath, Dusseldorf, in British-
Occupied Germany, Mrs Buenger is visit-
ing her brother for the first time since
1929. She has lived in Germany since 1913
where she met her late husband on a
vacation trip.
Pat O'Sullivan, with family and friends, beams a contagious Irish smile following
presentation of a watch on his thirtieth anniversary with Humble. Left to right are:

Among numerous gifts from fellow-em-
ployees to G. K. DeLaune on his sixty-fifth
birthday, was a beautiful Holy Bible. It
was presented along with other gifts when
he retired from active service in the power
department.
Born in Baton Rouge, Mr. DeLaune at-
tended public schools and St. Vincent’s
school. He was a sergeant in the army
medical corps during World War I, and
launched his career with Humble at Bay-
town in March, 1920, as a member of the
refinery housing staff. He served later as a
watchman in the refinery police depart-
ment, and transferred to the power de-
partment as a steam trap repairman in
February, 1922, where he served continu-.
ously until his retirement.
A devout and faithful worker in the
local Seven Day Adventist church which
he helped establish and build, Mr. De-
