New Home Of Mr. & Mrs. V. J. Long To
Be Included In Homes Beautiful Tour
One of the newest and most
modern homes of Rusk is that of
Mr. and Mrs. V. J. Long, located
about five miles from Rusk on
the Jacksonville highway. This
home is one that is included in
the Homes Beautiful Tour Sun-
day, M a y 16, two to five p.m.
While Mr. and Mrs. Long have
not moved into their home as yet,
it is completed, and they have
graciously consented to open it to
the public.
Made of brick and redwood, the
exterior is strictly modern in its
lines, while the interior is a com-
bination of traditonal and mod-
ern. There are eght rooms on the
upper level — four bedrooms, liv-
ing room, dining room, kitchen,
den, two and a half baths — and
on the lower level, a huge play-
room. The walls of the rooms are
textoned, with the exception of
the den, which is paneled in Phil-
ippine mahogany, and two baths,

the kitchen are of the same ma-
hogany in a natural finish. Soft
colors are predominant.
The house is entirely electrical-
ly equipped with an all year heat-
ing and cooling system, and all
appliances are electric.
Mexico will be the country rep-
resented at the Longs. The theme
will be carried out in the enter-
tainment featured and in the cos-
tumes of the hostess and the mem-
bers of the house party.
The Homes Beautiful Tour is
sponsored each year by the Beta
Alpha Chapter of the Delta Kappa
Gamma in order to enlarge the
scholarship fund for a future
teacher.
