ing some. Let's make it more oft-
en.
As the days for college kids to
leave near, more and more of the
girls have long faces. Perk up
girls, Rusk High has got plenty of
cute boys.
Elizabeth Kinsel seemed to be
enjoying the Sunday movie with
Edward Freeland. Could this be a
new couple????
Two other couples enjoying the
movie were linda and Leon and
Maxine and Kenny. However, they
always enjoy what over they do.
The choir really has a lot of cou-
ples in it. Mr. Sheets had better
watch all the back seats on the
choir trips By the way the choir
is sounding {jreat. Good Luck!'!!!
At the Drive In Saturday ninht.
Donnie Bell and Sally Summers
were seen in "Passion Pit". Let's
watch that stuff, kids.
Last Monday night was filled
with new dates. Two of these were
Sue Banks and Kent Miller, Nada
Smith and Robert Watson. Have
fun, kids??,,'>
There was a happy Senior Class

was ¿seen with Nelson

There's a certain senior girl that
has her eye on Eugene Hall. Her
initials are Lillie Kaye King!!!!!
Carolyn Johnson is a very lone-
ly girl since Bubba went off to
school. The snoops heard that she
is no longer going steady. This is
your chance, boys!!!!!
One of our cutest senior girls
was seen walking number "70" off
the field at New London. Lot's
watch this couple, they seem to
really have it bad. How 'bout it
Naomi and Donald??
We have a new couple that was
seen together Sunday nifilit at and
after church. They got together in
the choir. Do you remember any-
thing about the sermon, Carla La-
nier and Foster Webb?????
Glenda Sparkman kept her eye
( on number "51" at the game Fri-
¡ day night It seems that number
i belongs to Kenneth Hall.
One couple that really seems to
In* getting around a lot lately is
Margaret Seale and Jimmy Love-
lady. They were together Friday,
Saturday and Sunday.
Nancy Sue Verbick and R u t h

carload of boys Sunday afternoon.
Come now girls, who were they??
You've been holding out on us!!!
Sunday ni«ht. the Ed Sullivan
show on TV gave m a n y «iris a
thrill Elvis Presley was on and
sang many good "selections".
Two new couples walking off
the field at New London were Car-
ol Lee and Paul Hubbard, and Ka

Linda Jones has been receiving
several phone calls and occasional

The Rusk Eagles dropped an
important game to the New Lon-
don Wildcats Friday night by a
score of 26 to 7. The Eagles, after
several injuries had occurred, fou-
ght to the end and finally scored
four minutes before the game was
over.
Orville Johnson, the freshman
flash, ran for the lone touchdown
Lei and Jones nn(1 the >fter Kenl
MiJler, Foster Webb, Gerald Cole-
man, and Kenny Gayle suffered
injuries. Kenny Gayle, one of the
Eagles best backfield men, broke
his arm and is expected to be out
the remainder of the season. The
Eagles travel to Alto Friday night
to meet the high flying Yellow
'Bull" Bur- Jackets. The Jackets have a good
team, but let's all get behind the
Eagles and prove we still have the
best.
My prediction is Rusk 20, Alto
7. Lets go Eagles.

Fashion News
Terrell Fisher looked very pret-
ty in a plaid fall dress last Thurs-
day.
Hey, Louise, we really go for
that new hairdo! Let's sec more of
the same.
Has anyone noticed the new ma-
jorette and cheerleader suits?
Really, girls,"you look nothing but
«harp!!
It's getting close to "loafers and
socks" days again. Everyone real-
ly perks up when that is mention-
ed!!
Speaking of clothes, the boys
shouldn't be left out. The new jer-
seys really look fine on the foot-
ball players.
Say, Earl, we really go for that
new cowboy attire! Well, at least,
you don't look like a "hoad"!
One girl that always looks like
she just stepped out of a band box
is Gloma Burchfield. How do you
do it, Gloma!
Our vote goes to Mrs. Philbrick
for looking like a college student.
We hope you take that the right
way, Mrs. Coach.
Linda Rae looked swell in her
flashing red dress last week.
Those red dresses seem to be very,
very popular!
One way to tell the Rusk boys
from the Alto, Jacksonville, or
any other boys is their moccasins!!
.So objections though; we like 'em!

Cheerleaders
We at Rusk High School are all
very proud of our cheerleaders.
They did a fine job at the game
leading us in yells. This year they
have new suits that are white trim-
med with red. On the front is a
large red and black megaphone
with the girls each individual
name on it. To raise money the
cheerleaders are selling small
megaphones at 25c a piece. These
will really help the students in
yelling.
The cheerleaders are composed
of Kay Webb, head cheerleader, a
junior, Nada Smith, a senior, Max-
ine Hassell, a senior, Beth Meyers,
a junior, Theresa Miller, a sopho-
more, and Wanda Westbrook, a
freshman.
o
Majorettes
We of the EAGLES ECHO want;
to congratulate the majorettes on
the fine job they did Friday night.
They wore suits that were black
with white mums. The drum ma-
jor is Iva Nell Eaton, a senior, as-
sistant drum major is Sara Ruth
Talley, a junior, and the major-
ettes are Sherrell Burton, a junior,
Saundra Burks, a senior, Carolyn
Johnson, a senior, Sylvia Hender-
son, a senior, Sue Banks, a sopho-
more, and linda Williams, a soph-
omore.
