November 4 in Maydelle. the
Rusk Kirls edged out the May-
delle «iris 54-52 in a benefit same
played for the March of Dimes.
Maydelle pulled ahead only once
in the game, after shooting the
first basket. Due to lack of time,
the game was played in six min-
ute quarters rather than the st-
andard eight minute quarters.
Leading the Rusk scorers were
Crdal. 23 points: Weaver, 22 po-
ints: and ('arrinuton, 9 points.
Maydelle was paced by the Ivy
sisters, Joy and Kate, who scor-
ed 2fi and 22 points respectively.
In lip-coming games, the Bir-
die-; will be sporting brand new
warm-up suits which would put
a firetruck to shame. The warm-
up suits, which furnished by the
Rusk Quarterback Club, are red
with black trim and have a bl-
aek panel on the back with each
player's name.
Nineteen girls are on thf« year's
team. The girls, coached by Bll-
