Law Becomes
Effective
Tyler (Sp!X . .A new fishing
law became effective May 12,
1967 concerning the public
fresh waters of Cherokee
County and in the waters of the
Neches River within the bou-
ndaries of Cherokee and And-
erson Counties.
It's House Bill 429, and stat-
es that no person may place or
use any set or drag net se-
me in the above waters or take
or catch any fish from these
waters with this type of equip-
ment during the month' of
June, July, August, September
October, November, Decemb-
er or January.
According to warden super-
visor Charles Burnette and
Icoal game wardens of the Te-
xas Parks 1 Wildlife Depart-
ment, this Act does not prohi-
bit the use of minnow seines as
provided by genera! law.
