GOD GAVE US THE SUN FOR
THE MAINTENANCE OF UFE
last minute sun-seekers in the waning days of
summer will probably give little thought to the
many aspects of that most conspicuous object
in our sky, without which our lives could not
exist; for all animal and plant forms depend on
it. Even our direct exposure to its warming rays
can be beneficial if we don't overdo it in our
quest for outdoor recreation, and a bright,
sunny day gives most people a cheerful uplift.
Moreover, because of the heat and light it
generates, the sun will be increasingly
harnessed for energy, to replace our dwindling
supply of terrestrial fuels. Whatever your faith,
you learn that the sun is indeed God's supreme
gift to us; not only as a source of cheer, but as
His instrument for the very crea.tion and main-
tenance of life itself. \
