Welcome, December' Month 12'
But where went the first 11 months?
That's a question we'll table until
January The next few weeks are
likely to be occupied with more im-
minent concerns and activities'
Cranking It up early thin week Is
the "Make It Happen' Committee-
sponsored downtown festivities
Thursday evening, twilight time.
Choral/candlelight music,
visitation, shopping, a townwlde get-
together along similar linea of the
Memorial Day celebration. And
tickets to the Klwanls Club's Pan-
cake Supper are going like hot-
cakes...but you might be able to buy
at the door Thursday night, if you
miss advance sales.
Two days later the annual Yule
Parade is scheduled for 2pm For
many years this event was held on
Saturdays but more recently it has
been Thursdays or Fridays,
primarily to work around already
scheduled school events And some
of those parades found a lot of folks
dhivering as the sun began its
descent Saturday afternoon seems
like a tradition worthy of rintoring
for the holiday gala
Area church «holr members,
directors anil accompanists have
been thinking "t hrUlmas" lor
several months now with practice
for the Season's special music. For
athletes at RHS, round ball play Is
"full court" as well as many other
activities which involve students at
all grade levels.
A change of legislation brings still
another "season" to December's
busy schedule It is the season for
politics! Official filing begins Dec. 3.
And yet, admidst all these events
and more, citizens throughout the
area will find the time to offer many
loving acts of kindness to others,
while they wrap presents which
symbolize love for those who are
special
This Is the month of all the year for
giving and getting. We will give our
love and get In return the true spirit
of Christmas...which we hope will
sustain us through the New Year. If
you find at the end of December that
the time has flown, you can probably
say you had fun. This Is one of our of-
fice quips: "How time flies when
you're having fun!"
Hut I'm nol sure I had thai much
fun the last II months! Anyway, we
