The Formal Fall Opening
Thursday, Septerriber 21st
Presenting a notable collection of New York Model Hats and
noteworthy productions from our own artists-----------------
The Vogue of the Sailors—
IURING this opening we will feature the large Sailor, the season’s popular style.
I ) Some of them have irregular brims; some have straight brims, but the Sailor
I is predominant.
The model illustration is of black velvet, with a semi-facing of turquoise velvet.
The brim is set very high on the left aide and an iris shaded wing gives an artistic
touch to the exposed bandeau. The effect is novel and striking.

Chlorine was diffused in the water
in tbs city reservoir Wednesday by
employes at the water and light de-
partment. who "trolled" the water
with bags of chlorine on the end, of
lines tied to long poles. It was recom-
mended by the state health officers,
after making a survey of water sup-
ply condition*, that th* reservoir be
drained and all "dead heads" be
blown off after the chlorine diffuser
had been attached to the pump at
the power elation. Since the capacity
of the filter trenches will be taxed
while the troops are in the city. It
was decided a wiser policy to chlori-
nate the water in the reservoir and
thus keep a reserve supply on hand
while the It.*00 soldiers are here.
The chlorine diffuser which was sent
by the city official* of Dallas is now
being used at the pumping station. The
new diffuser, which was bought by
the city at a cost of $685 a few days
ago, will arrive within a week and
will be attached to the big pump at
the power Nation. This pump suppllaw
most of the water for the city. It
the diffuser is found to be satisfac-
tory. diffusers will also be bought tor
the auxiliary pump at the lower station
and for the pump at the upper sta-
tion.
