summer video Bible study
Rusk First United Methodist
Church is advertising "Travel
to Israel, Turkey, Greece, and
Italy this summer for free!"
"Well, okay it's only a video
series, but the community is
invited to join members of
the First United Methodist
Church in Rusk this summer
as they 'travel' to those places
that the Apostle Paul visited
on his missionary journeys,"
said Cliff Mantzel, discussion
leader.
Other than Jesus himself, no
one had a greater influence on
the founding of Christianity
than Paul of Tarsus.
Among his many achieve-
ments, three are of prime
importance; 1) as a powerful,
tireless missionary, he spread
the faith to Asia Minor, Greece
and Italy; 2) his letters, which
form much of the New Testa-
ment, present a basic theology
for Christianity; 3) more than
anyone else, he brought not
only Jews but Gentiles into the
early church, thus "universal-
izing" the faith.
"The Odyssey of Paul', an
eight week video series will
begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July
11, and it will continue from
7 to 8 p.m. each Wednesday
evening until Aug. 22. To
pre-register or for additional
information call the church
office at 903/683-4675. First
United Methodist Church is
located at 308 N. Henderson,
two blocks south of the court-
house in downtown Rusk.
