"Checkers," the famous racing melo-
drama, has been made into a motion
picture by William Fox and will be
seen at the Crescent Theater today and
Tuesday. The picture, directed by
Richard Stanton, is a mammoth spec-
tacle with most realistic scenes.

The Ford Assembly plant at Houston
has been forced to close temporarily on

required to supply San Antonio daily,
and milk depots are located in prac-
tically every town within a radius of
200 miles. One creamery alone uses
sufficient milk to turn out 2000 pouns

stroyed by fire here last night. One
