Despite a fifth inning rally on the
part of the Kiwannis Club, the Lions
easily won Tuesday afternoon'* game
at Lak* Austin Park by a score of
6 to 1. Webb, who pitched for the.
Lions, held the Klwanis nine hitless,
but wildness on his part let a number
of men on bases, which, with a com-
bination of errors, gave the Klwanis
team its only run. The Kiwanians suc-
ceeded in getting five men on bases
in the fifth, but scored only the on*
run.

The Warriors have been getting the
pitching all season, and their defensive
work has, on the whole, been of the
sensational order; but when it came
to driving across a bunch of runs,
they simply did not have the punch.
The acquisition of "Chief"" Wilson
was a wise move. It can be safely
said that in Owen Wilson and Rudy
Henninger the Legion clan has two
of the very best sluggers in Central
Texas. Both men swing from the left
side of the plate, and each has a mighty
wallop. With the signing of Hender-
son, the former A.&M crack. Hen-
ninger ha* been shifted to the middle
garden. With Wilson in left, Hennin-
ger in center and Ravey in right, th*
Warriors possess a greae trio of fly-
chasers.
"Bus" Gillett, te Longhorn crack,
will do the pitching for Thorndale on
Sunday, while Maxey Hart, another
Varsity star. will do the receiving.
Mike Schmidt, who tamed the Elginites
last Sunday, will again perform on the
Hillock for the Warriors with Hender-
son behind the bat.
