Rebate
The City of Cooper received
a check from the State Treasur-
er last Friday in the amount of
$4,045. 78 representing net
sales tax collections during the
final quarter of 1970.
The current check brought
the total amount of city sales
tax collected during past year
to approximately $16,000.
When the city sales tax was
put into effect July 1, 1968, it
was estimated that the one per-
cent tax would add about $11,000
annually to the municipal reven-
ue binds. The past two years,
the tax revenue has been above
expectations.
