To Local Pilots
The regular program meet-
ing of the Pilot Club of Mineola
was held at noon Wednesday,
July 27, at Alma’s Cafe.
Birthday corsages were pre-
sented to three of the Pilots:
Vickie Slaton, Clara Lund-
gaard, and Vicki Prestidge.
Ann Waldon introduced Ann
Crump, who was the winner of
the recent Patriotic Poem Con-
test. After Mrs. Crump recited
her winning entry, she was
given a $25 U. S. Savings Bond
from the club.
Mrs. Marjorie Manning, cer-
tified teacher for the Mineola
PreSchool, was program guest
for the day. She gave a very
interesting talk on her work
with special education children.
. The Ice Cream Recipe books
were distributed to the Pilots
for them to sell at $1.50 each.
Proceeds from sales of the
books will go to the School for
which it is dedicated. “See any
Pilot if you would like to have
one,” says a dub spokeswoman.
