Johnson county is due to have
some of the outstanding perform-
ers at the meet, scheduled at
Hillsboro April 15 and 16. Bob
Wilson of Corsicana has the fast-
est time in the 100-yard dash with
10:2 and also is the best in the
220 with 23 flat. Mackey of Bono,
with 53 seconds, is the best thus
far in the quarter.
Marshall of Corskxna State
Home has the fastest time in the
mile with 5:12 but Cleburne has
the best relay teain with 3:39.5,
51-2 seconds faster than State
Home. Other best marks over the
district follow:
One hundred and 20-yard high
hurdles, Turpen; State Hone,
16.5; 220-yard low hurdles. Oliver,
State Home. 26.5; pole vault, Wil-

Coach Howard Parker of Cle-
burne High broke down Thursday
afternoon and admitted that he
was going to have a good line
next fall, though most of the boys
were inexperienced.
“They're big, and strong and
apt," he said. "and I belleve I’ll
have a fine line."
He's pretty blue over his back-
field. however. Putter Holliday and
Russ Panders, lettermen, are on
the scholastic border line and
likely will not make their grades.
But Parker will, have Griffin,
Stephens, Hagler, Doyle Miller
and Ray Hammond to bulld a
backfield with. AU lack experience
but the first three are big. pow-
erful boys and Hagler has played
enough football that’ he can step
into a backfield berth. • • -------

Cisc has been suspended from
the Oil Belt district of the Inter-

they'd do it, but they did and
। no(V the district must struggle
along with but five clubs next
fall.
The Loboes were suspended
from football due to -the use of
Fred Hightower, transfer from |
Corsicans by way of Tyler, who
was ruled ineligible in playing
against Breckenridge last season.
; It was alleged he played at Cisco
' in less than 30 days after his
transter from Tyler which is
against the rules.
