Now, with greater power and exquisite new beauty, the
Dictator Eight in more than ever first of all Eighta at its
price. And it tope the great records it haa piled up for econ-
omy of operatian with the super-economy of Free Wheeling.
Free Wheeling meana the harnesing of momentum and
the consequent saving of 12% to 20% in gaa and oil con-
sumption. When your engine haa “worked" only 8,000 miles
it has travelled 10,000 miles. Chassis wear is reduced. Tire
life is lengthened.
You can shift from high to second, back and forth, at 40
—50 miles an hour and never touch the dutch. Yet, with
Free Wheeling, under positive jeacontrol, the braking
’ power of your engine is always available when wanted.
See this new Dictator Eight, shown today for the first
time. Drive it. Experience the thrill of Free Wheeling.
Studebaker considers this new Eight with Free Wheeling
a crowning triumph of its 78 progressive years.

Having changed his mind about
fighting extradition. Charity Renfro,
Amarillo chef, arrested her. far a
slaying at Asheville, N. C., four years
ago. Is ready to return with Carolina
officeri who are an route to Am-
arillo.
Renfro eontends that he ehet in
seir-defense, and that he haa nothing
to fear. Communication rom officers
at Asheville, however, indicate that
the erime wae a brutal one, the vic-
tim horribly slashed with a knife.
Officers believe Renfro's euriosity
to learn if the charge of murder was
still pending against him led to hip
arrest. Renfro went to a stenogra-
pher in the courthouse several week,
ago and naked her to write a letter
for him, inquiring about Charley Ren-
fro, and signing a fictitious name.
Sam Ramsey, deputy constable, in-
vestigated the case then and learned
that the writer of the letter waa
Renfro, and that he waa wanted for
murder. Renfro left town end only
recently returned, Ramsey said.
Police, who made the arrest, did
not diselose the source of their in-
formation, but soon learned from of-
ficers at Asheville that they had the
right man.

TREES IN OU SECTION
Tea thousand trees, American elms,
box eMera and silver maples, costing
from fifteen to seventeen and one-
half cents each, are to be placed on
the city section park if plana an-
nounced by the city commission mi-
terialize. Each tree is to represent a
school child ia the city.
Each hole will coot from twenty to
forty cents for the digging unless a
boring machine can be borrowed from
the Southwestern Public Service
Company, according to Temple Robin-
son, superintendent of parks.
Mayor Thompson figured that more
interest would be taken in the proj-
oct if each child were to be per-
mitted to plant a tree and mark it
with his or her name. Commission-
era H. Ernest Smith and I. N. Vernon
favor the plan.

NIOTORDOM’S biggest surprise in 1930 is Stude-
IV- baker’s introduction of Free Wheeling with posi-
tive gear control. .
Today's biggest surprise is the unexpected application
of Free Wheeling to the one Studebaker Eight that seemed
too low-priced to command it.
