res in Cleburne, escaping with
approximately $150. The currency
was evenly divided soon after the
jobs were completed. Approxima-
tely $80 in silver was not divided,
but was buried instead in the yard
of one of the boys who lived in
Joshua. All knew where the mon-
ey was buried. Three of the boys
were incensed later when they
went to dig up the money. It was
gone and so was one of their lot.
It was soon determined the mis-
sing boy stole back under the
cover of night soon after the mon-
ey was buried and dug it up.
Hence bad feeling rankled in
the ranks of the youthful thieves.
When arrests began to be made
,fi the burglar ring, there natur-
ally was some “singing” done,
singing being a term used in the
underworld and meaning tattle-
tale talk. Following the arrest of
two of the youths, the others were
taken to the sheriff’s office by
one of their mothers, who had
heard officers wished to question
the pair in several burglary jobs.
Dishonorable Deed
At county jail, the two boys
told investigating officers about
the dishonorable deed perpetra-
ted on them by one of their 16-
year-old confederates, who dug
up the stolen money and stole
away. They were unhappy be-
cause the youth stole the stolen
money and the talk, which ulti-
mately led to complete confess-
ions, then came freely from all
of the arrested suspects. Two

Fog and drizzle again cut visi-
bility sharply over most of West
Texas this morning. Fog and
drizzle was reported at Abilene,

Forecasters said a ridge of
high pressure east of Texas was
moving slowly to the east allow-
ing moist air off the Gulf to
spread northward over the state.
All sections of the state will
remain overcast with drizzle or
rain continuing or even picking
up in some areas through Fri-
