portment of ngriculture not to buy
preparatibns for hanging in elosets
and other parte of the house to drive
away household posts, purify the air
and prevent disease. These prepara-
tions are worthleas, the department

Some of the ''trick" preparations
now being offered for aale to fens'
era, suburban dwellers, housewives,
and others, are concoctions to be
added to food aad drinking water
which their makers say will control
external parasites on poultry and
other animals consuming them. Other
preparations claim to be absorbed by
tho sap of trees to control funguou
diseases and to kill insects on and in
the tree*.
One of the misbranded preparations
sold to control lie*, mites, ticks and
fleas on poultry and other' animals
by being taken late the ayatem with
the food and drinking water, officials
of the administration found could be
bought for 18 eenta a gallon. Thio
preparation, retailed in small eontain-
era, netted the producer $64 a gallon.
