the largest parades on Armistice Day.
November 11, in history. At a called
meeting of th* parade committee
L yesterday at noon in the Amarillo
Hotel, at which all of the members
except two were present, the follow-
i lag tentative plan was decided upon.
There being ten members of the pa-
rede committee it was decided that
the parade would be divided into ton
sect ns, each under the direction of
a member of the committee.
The first section under the com-
mend of Fred E. Young who is pa-
rade marshall and chairman of the
parade committee, will be hooded by
Dave Derden’s concert band com-
posed of thirty pieces. This will
make the tenth consective year that
thia band has led the pared* spon-
sored by the American Legion. The
members of the bend, although mem-
bers of the musician’s union, are do-
nating their services to the public on
this occasion.
In this section wOI also be motor-
cycle escorts from ths police depart-
ment, the parade marshall and his
buglers, and the colors of Henson
Post No. 54.
) Capt. Harry Foster (Cavalry D. O.
L.) will be in charge of the reserve
officers of Amarillo and vicinity,
each of which will be in uniform and
mounted. There will also be other
horsemen and horsewomen in this
section. *
Blucher Thorp, commanding the
local unit of ths Texas nations) guard,
on this occasion, will form the next
section, which will be composed of
infantry, artillery, machine guns and
medical detachment.
Ths fourth section will be in charge
of Arthur Ball, headed by the Ameri-
can Legion drum corps, composed of
all ex-service men and woman who
are not included in the other or-
ganisations. It is urged that each
ex-serviee man. and each ex-service
woman in Amarillo and vicinity, or
from any towns report to this section

cludes Red Gross, Salvation Army, Y.
iM. C. A. Y. W. C. A., or any other
korganization,
A. Petersen will lead the fifth
section composed of the Woodman
Circle drum corps, Spanish American
War Veterans, Boy Scouts, Girl
Scouts, and perhaps De Molay boys.
Section six will be led by Veterans
of Foreign Wars in charge of W. L.
Ottinger, the commander of that or-
ganizatiop. This section will also
be composed of members of the D.
A. R., G. A. R., and Confederate
Veterans. We urge all members of
these organizations to get in touch
with Mr. Ottinger. This section will
also have delegations from Price
< airge and St, Mary's Academy.

Ahe West Texas State Teachers
F College band, from Canyon, and per-
/ haps some other representatives from
that institution. Copt, J. L. Bohrns,
commandant of cedets in the Senior
High School will be in charge of this
section, which will be composed of
the R. O. T. C. of the Senior High
School, high school students, and
groups from the different ward
schools, and the Junior College of
Amarillo.
Next will come the city offielals in
. charge of 8. D. Ridingb, compesed of
fhe city officials, police department,
d fire deportment. Also representa-
eNes of the Board of City Develop-
ment, Chamber of Commerce, and
Texas Plains, Ine., state and county
officials, composed of Judges, mem-
bers of the sheriff’s dspartmentahd
constable's department, will also be in
'this section.
Walter Irvin will have charge ef
the nextisectjon which will be com-
posed of Dave Derden's junior band.

railway company, various types of
motor transportation, old ears, and
the latest models of cars, cabs,
busses, trucks and motoreycles. Each
of the airports will be represented
to this section.
The last section will be in charge
ef John K. Boyce and will include
the Amarillo College of Music jaalor
band under the direction of Ellis B.
Hall, metchants' floats and floats
from any civic elub or any other
organization that desires to enter a
float in the parade.
It is contemplated that prises will
be given this year as in previous
years for the best decorated fleet,
and perhaps some other prises will
be offered. The amount of the prizes
and the conditions of awarding will
__keannuneed Iater by Mr Hosce.
Any organisation desiring to par-
ticipate in the parade either by hav-
ing a decorated car or float, or hav-
ing a group march in the parade,
should call upon one of the above
Motion leaders, or confer with Floyd
loan, post adjutant of Hansea post;
Guy Saunders, chairman of the Arml-
stice day celebration committee, or
Commander Benton.
We earnestly request the fullest
co-operation on the part of the eti-
