Council has chosen Pansy and Clald
E. Brown as citizens of the month of
November.
By PANSY CHAMBERS BROWN
On September 20,1987, Claud and
I celebrated our 49th wedding
anniversary, after having lived in
Boerne for almost eight years.
Along the way, we accumulated two
sons, three granddaughters, one
grandson and one great grandson.
We first met on a blind date in
San Antonio in 1938.1 was originally
from Amarillo and Brownie (Claud),
grew up in Temple after his family
moved there from Tennessee. Two
weeks after our date we were

duplex apartment. Gordon, our
oldest son, served in the Marine
Corps and worked for Southwestern
Bell for over 30 years. Our other
son, Bob, obtained a B.B.A. degree
from St. Mary’s University.
In 1974, Brownie retired and we
moved to Amarillo, where we
resided for six years.
By 1980, we decided to return to
South Texas, and moved to Boerne
to be near our children. Since our
move to the Hill Country, we have
become active in the Rainbow
Center and the Fellowship, while
also becoming members of the First
Baptist Church of Boerne.
We continue to stay happy and to
follow the advice of our oldest son
