CANDIDATE'S WIFE - Loy Burgess, wife of Republican
congressional candidate Jack Burgess of Waco, was in Brown-
wood Wednesday seeking voter support for her busband who is
after the 11th Congressional District seat being vacated by W. R.
Poage. Mrs. Burgess said she spends as much time on the road
speaking to voters as time will allow her away from managing
her home and five daughters, two of whom are also on the cam-
paign trail on behalf of their father. After speaking about
Burgess' business qualifications, she summed up with the
statement, “He’s the greatest and he‘l make a good
congressman. Accompanying Mrs. Burgess was Dr. Guy
Newman of Brownwood, a Burgess supporter.
