Three weeks ago San Francisco
Manager Al Dark tagged slugger
Orlando Cepeda with a $50 fine
for failing to run out a grounder.
Thursday night Cepeda walked
to first base. And Dark smiled.
For Cepeda, on a hitting ram-
page since he was both fined and
benched on Aug. 19, was walking
with the bases leaded in the ninth
inning, driving in the tie-breaking
run that propelled second-place
San Francisco to a 9-6 triumph
over National League leading Los-
Angeles.

El Paso at Austin, postponed, rain
(El Paso leads 1-0)
Cepeda’s walk on a 3 and 2

ranoski, clincing the victory that
moved the Giants to within 1%
games of the Dodgers.

MIAMI (P) — Some women are
so eager to enroll their children
in the University of Miami’s ex-
perimental grammar school they
rush to the registrar’s office as
soon as they learn they are
pregnant.

20 per cent of the approximately
400 children on the waiting list
for kindergarten haven’t even
been born.
Student teachers use the school
